"Then we will fight in the shade"

So, I went to an early screening of 300. They were having a screening for Art Center Students and their friends. And Thankfully I am a friend of an Art Center student. So, on tuesday I went to Pasadena prepared to have my world rocked... I was not disappointed.

This movie was AWESOME. Loads of action and fighting. And man, I have to say that the script was bold simply because I have never seen a movie when all of the script is tough guy one liners. But this movie does... and I loved it. When I walked out I knew that many quotes from this movie will be plastered all over gyms across America. And they will be used by football players and ultimate fighters and other such athletes till the end of time.

now, I really loved the book (of the comic variety). But, they fleshed the story out and it made it much more enjoyable. It was one of the rare occasions when the movie was better than the book. Simply because it had all of the book and then some.

Gerard Butler who played King Leonidas was quite simply amazing. He seemed noble and regal. But, also freaking tough at the same time. And all the other actors did fine jobs.

This movie is going to be huge. Its gonna make boat loads of money and I think critics will really like it. I loved it. I will see it again simply because it deserves my money.

What does the title signify again? Some master of something or other told me once but it failed to take hold in my feeble mind. Please enlighten this grasshopper.

And by title I mean the title of the movie, not of your post (although I have no idea what that means either).

The title is in reference to the 300 Spartans that fought against the entirety of the Persian Horde. And the title of the post is one of the said tough guy one liners from the movie. I believe the conversation goes as follows:

Persian jive sucka:"The thousand nations of the Persian empire descend upon you! Our arrows will blot out the sun!"

Spartan awesome guy: "Then we will fight in the shade."

Like you, I sense that this movie will make a lot of money. And that's not something I was expecting to expect only a few months ago. What will the ramifications be of 300 being a huge hit?
